The Aethernaut

On my recent wanderings I acquired this really rather lovely miniature treasure chest. It’s not just a fun jewellery box (that’s what I’m using it for) , it’s also incredibly photogenic. I have a feeling it’s going to be appearing in product photos some time soon! Pictured inside it is a new Alice In Wonderland necklace which I’ve just finished making.

The Aethernaut
I am greatly inspired by the idea of the mad scientist – the genius who’s work has snowballed out of control, driving it’s creator stark staring bonkers into the bargain. From Dr Frankenstein to Dr Moreau and Dr Jeckyll (they are almost always Doctors, are they not?), the prognosis is never good – the protagonist and often society at large are inevitably overwhelmed and torn to pieces/devoured/immolated by their creations in a frothing frenzy of madness.
What would have helped these remarkable creatures keep their sanity and vision intact? How could we have kept them – and us – safe from their blazing brilliance? I do believe I have the answer…

Boffin goggles - essential eyewear for mad scientists
No mad (or should I say, potentially mad) scientist should be without a pair of my new Boffin Goggles, sturdily built to keep you safe from death rays, poisonous spores, delusional thoughts, flying vermin and MORE*!
These are my own personal pair, as although it should be said that my chances of becoming an evil genius are rather slim, one has to take precautions. I have seen it happen to the best minds of my generation I can tell you.
Do you feel the need for such protection? Watch this space closely my friend, because when these essential accoutrements to brilliant thinking become available to the general public, YOU will be the first to know.
*Please note that these goggles are not to be worn as safety goggles, they are not genuinely protective eyewear. They cannot protect you from caustic substances, shield your eyes when welding or keep you safe from flying splinters of metal, wood etc.
